Prostitution Racket Disguised as a Grocery Shop Unveiled in Jalore, Seven Detained
A prostitution racket disguised as a grocery shop was uncovered by the police in Jalore, leading to the arrest of three women and four men. The mastermind of the prostitution operation is a local woman from Jalore who had invited one woman each from Jodhpur and West Bengal to work as prostitutes. The police have charged all seven individuals with the Beaten Act.
The landlord and his female tenant had jointly operated the prostitution business, and set up a grocery and paan-bidi shop outside their house as a cover-up. The police had sent an undercover agent with a 500-rupee note to investigate, and upon receiving the signal, raided the house to catch the individuals red-handed in an objectionable condition.
According to DSP Ratnaram Devasi, the landlord and tenant woman had orchestrated the prostitution operation by inviting women from Jodhpur and West Bengal to engage in the flesh trade. The police have seized a car belonging to the landlord Jahangir Khan and a motorcycle from customer Arvind Kumar.
