Rajasthan Government Announces Sanchore as New District, Sparking Celebrations among Residents

The Rajasthan government has announced the formation of a new district in Sanchore town, which has brought immense joy and celebrations amongst the locals. The announcement came as a surprise as Sanchore was not included in the initial proposals for creating new districts in the state. However, on March 11, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot called Minister of State Sukhram Bishnoi and Pukhraj Parashar, chairman of the Absence Allegation Redressal Committee, to request a proposal for the district. This sudden demand resulted in Sanchore being announced as a district along with other proposed districts.

The news of the announcement sparked celebrations in the city, with residents setting off fireworks and expressing their gratitude to Minister of State Sukhram Bishnoi and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot by distributing sweets. The surrounding villages also expressed their happiness by bursting crackers and taking out processions.

Sanchore is a well-connected city, with two major national highways and an extensive Narmada Canal network, making it an ideal location for crop production. The area also has an emergency airstrip and modern medical facilities, including a sub-district hospital and additional SP and ADJ courts. The newly-formed district is expected to include the Sanchore, Sarnau, Ranivada, Karda, Bhinmal, Chitalwana, Gudamalani, Dhorimanna, Sedwa, and Faglia panchayat samiti areas.

The demand for Sanchore to become a district was first raised in 2012 by the then Pradhan of Sanchore, Shamsher Ali Syed. Over the years, various proposals were sent, including one by the district head Jaswant Kanwar in 2012. With the recent announcement, the locals hope to see progress and development in their region. The government has also announced the formation of a sub-tehsil in Khasaravi, a police post in Arnai village, a missing link road from Akodia village to BRO road, and a sub-health center in Janiyan ki Dhani Surachand.
